Hernan L. Calvo – Brief Bio and CV

Brief Bio:

I am a young Researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) and an Adjoint Professor at the National University of Rio Cuarto in Argentina. Since October 2013, I am working in Luis E. F. Foa Torres’ group at the Institute of Physics “Enrique Gaviola” (IFEG – CONICET) on theoretical modeling and numerical simulation of time-dependent phenomena, including laser irradiation of graphene-based devices and Floquet topological insulators.

I obtained my PhD degree in March 2010 at the National University of Cordoba, under the supervision of Prof. Horacio M. Pastawski. During this period, I worked on classical and quantum versions of the so-called time reversal mirror technique. I then started working as a postdoctoral fellow with Luis Foa Torres on transport through irradiated graphene. In November 2010, I moved to Germany where I worked as a postdoc at the RWTH Aachen University and Jülich Research Centre in collaboration with Profs. Janine Splettstoesser and Maarten R. Wegewijs on transport through strongly interacting quantum dots.
